After Devon Conway was out, New Zealander Glenn Phillips came up to the pitch and batted at number 4. The DJ started playing the John Cena theme as Phillips walked onto the field. Now a Hollywood celebrity, John Cena has a huge global fan base and is well-known even to people who weren’t familiar with his time in the WWE.

This is possibly the first time a cricket player has entered the field to the theme music of a WWE hero, UFC superstars have frequently done the same.

Phillips scored 29 out of 22 to help New Zealand reach its goal of 163. In addition to Phillips, Kane Williamson stood out with the bat by slamming 59 off 38.
Pakistan’s Men in Green were able to successfully chase down the target thanks to their collective batting performance. Mohammad Rizwan scored 34 and Mohammad Nawaz recorded 38 of 22 to maintain his perfect record. Haider Ali scored 31 runs off 15 balls while batting with a strike rate of 206.67.
Pakistan is very confident going into the T20 World Cup. In the ICC competition last year, New Zealand advanced to the final; this year, they plan to do the same. Bangladesh hasn’t quite lived up to the hype around major events, and they still have a lot of work to do.
