One of the well-known, BBC Radio presenters and commentators Gordon Sparks passed away on the 16th of October in 2022, know his age
Gordon Sparks had been undergoing treatment for cancer and officially tweeted on Friday, 14.10.22, to say he’s moved to a hospice after updating his followers about his condition getting worse the earlier day.

Gordon Sparks Professional Career, Family, Death
Gordon Sparks was known for his commentating skills on the Plymouth Argyle. He started with hospital radio and then joined Plymouth Sound before moving to BBC. Most recently he has hosted breakfast on Radio Devon.
The station is paying tribute to him with special features and programming all day today and RIP Sparksy is presently trending on whole social media. In August, Plymouth Argyle named the press box in his honor inside the newly refurbished Mayflower Stand.
Sparks left the world on Sunday morning that was 16th of October 2022 and is survived by his wife whose name is Heather. He also had 2 daughters namely Kirsty and Holly and died aged 61.
Jason Horton, Acting Director of BBC England and former head of BBC South, paid tribute. He stated: “Such sad news – @SparksyOnRadio was a broadcaster who loved his audience so much, loved his job and loved @Argyle. Gordon will be missed massively as well as badly by so many people.” Thousands of people are paying tribute of Gordon as people considered him Pylmouth Argyle’s voice.
Among the ones who paid condolences, Sharron Davies was also there who is an Olympic winner. According to her he was a great friend who had a sporting voice.
Angela Kalwaites who is known to be flowstation presenter tweeted: “We will all miss our great colleague and friend so much”
Stephanie Marshall who is popularly known as the head of BBC South West and South, said: “It is a sad day for BBC Radio. Our hearts go out to Gordon’s family, faithful listeners as well as his friends”.
