2022 US Chess Championships Format, Rules, Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, And Other Details
Saint Louis Chess Club is hosting the 2022 US Championships, an elite over-the-board national championship event featuring 14 of the finest chess players in the nation. Following 13 rounds, the victor will be crowned and awarded $60,000 in addition to the coveted title of 2022 U.S. Champion. The famous 2022 U.S. Chess and U.S. Women’s Chess Championships began on October 4 with a public opening ceremony and concluded on October 20 with a similar ceremony.
Opening 40 moves of each match will have a 90-minute time constraint at 2022 edition of US Chess Championships. The remaining moves have a time constraint of 30 minutes, which is increased by 30 seconds for each subsequent move after that. Games from the regular season or the postseason in the Event will not be drawn.

2022 US Chess Championship Day 7 Results, Score, Winners, Standings, & Round 8 Schedule
Leinier Dominguez’s 10-move victory over Elshan Moradiabadi in Round 7 of the US Chess Championships was just the beginning of what Fabiano Caruana labelled a very brutal day. By winning his fourth game, Fabiano Caruana maintained his lead in open division standings ahead of fellow rivals including Ray Robson, who defeated reigning champion Wesley So. With a convincing victory, Dariusz Swiercz shot up to third place while Elshan Moradiabadi’s mental meltdown resulted in his resignation in just 10 moves after an initial gaffe. Four critical outcomes occurred in the women’s competition, including WIM Megan Lee’s victory over FM Jennifer Yu, which moved her into a tie for first place with GM Irina Krush.
In a game that took just 20 minutes to come to its absurd climax, GM Leinier Dominguez and Moradiabadi played only 10 moves before farcical scenes began to play out. After losing to Swiercz in round seven, Hans Niemann’s tournament took a turn for the worst. Caruana has a plus-four rating and has already gained 10 rating points after defeating GM Alex Lenderman in another endgame masterpiece.
Wesley So, the defending champion, will play third-placed Swiercz in a must-win matchup in round 8 on Friday. Christopher Yoo, a young sensation, will compete against Jeffery Xiong, a struggling player, while Fabiano Caruana, a leader, will compete against Samuel Sevian. Ray Robson, who is currently in second place, will battle against Elshan Moradiabadi, who is currently in last place, on Friday in an effort to gain ground on competitors.
