Since it first appeared on the men’s circuit in 1973, the Japan Open has become a regular pit stop. It was formerly named as the Tokyo Outdoor Grand Prix and, up until 1989, it was a part of the Grand Prix Tennis Tour. Since that time, it has joined the ATP Tour and been designated as an ATP 500 competition.
After a three-year hiatus, the ATP tour will return to Tokyo, as the country’s capital will host the 2022 Japan Open from October 3–9.

Players, Seeds And Draw
Casper Ruud, the second-ranked player in the world, is the top seed and stands out from the crowd. A number of Majors runner-up performances are among the highlights of the 23-year-career-best old’s season. He will be trying to change that today since despite all of his success, he has yet to win a title above the ATP 250 level.
World No. 8 Cameron Norrie is the second seed, while the top four seeds are Americans Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz. Nick Kyrgios, a 2022 Wimbledon champion, Alex de Minaur, and Thanasi Kokkinakis are also in the main event.
