Sunny Mehta, 23, was previously identified as the case’s suspect after the Chandigarh University student’s name-swapping claim. According to Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kundu, the accused in the case has been asked to be arrested by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav.
The Himachal Police detained him in Rohru, where he was born and raised, after getting his personal information. The suspect has been detained at the Rohru Police Station, and once the investigating Punjab Police team arrives there from Mohali, he will be turned over to them.
Even the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jairam Thakur, had commented on the situation, saying, “I have ordered police officials to work with the Punjab Police. The child who made the videos popular, based on the information we have, is from Himachal. There will be legal action against him.
