F1 British GP 2021 Preview
After winning the French triple-header and dominating Formula 1 this season, Max Verstappen has really impressed us all by defeating Lewis Hamilton several times in this season of Formula 1. This is the closest-ever Formula 1 season in history whereas previously one team dominated the entire season.
Sergio Perez has revived his Formula 1 career this season after joining RedBull as he was out of his seat for this season for Racing Point. RedBull offered him a seat as their second driver and has since impressed every Formula 1 by winning in Baku.
Lewis Hamilton will be hoping to forget the French triple-header and will focus on the special home race at Silverstone which will prove to be the most crucial race in this season of Formula 1. If Lewis Hamilton fails to win this race, then we will get a rough idea of who is gonna be the Champion this season.
F1 British GP Silverstone Circuit Details
Silverstone is the oldest and one of the fastest circuits in Formula 1 history. It was built on a former Second World War Airfield because of which there is no elevation on the track. Its fast and tight corners allow fans to enjoy the British Grand Prix even after 70 years.
The corner names are the same today as they were in 1950. What’s most fascinating of all is despite tweaks and shifts in the overall design of the track in the past 70 years, the characteristics of almost all these corners have stayed the same and thus the challenge remains.
One of the fastest corners of the circuit is the mighty Copse where it becomes very difficult for the drivers to keep their car on the tarmac. Then comes the beautiful combination of corners like Maggots and Becketts which are the fastest corners of the circuit.
British Grand Prix Circuit Length And Fastest Lap
The British Grand Prix track record is held by Max Verstappen, as the Dutchmen clocked in a 1:27.097 at the last year’s British Grand Prix.ย Silverstone circuit is 5.891km making it one of the longest circuits in Formula 1 covering 306.198 km over the course of 52 laps on Sunday.
Unpredictable weather at the Silverstone is the most crucial aspect of the track which either makes the driver or breaks him. We have seen many extraordinary performances from the drivers where they have crossed the carnage caused by the debris on the track to win the race.
