New Changes
This time around, the addition of the 50% length race is the biggest change. This is a hike from 35% in former years in an effort to highlight further strategic prowess. Half the length of a real-world F1 race.
During the 2021 championship, two races were occasionally broadcast live on the F1 YouTube and Twitch feeds on the same evening. Each round will now consist of three qualifying sessions and races that are separated by three days. There will be a total of 12 races, beginning on September 14 in Bahrain and concluding on December 16 in a virtual Abu Dhabi.
Current Winners
Jarno Opmeer and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports team are the current driver and team champions going into the new season; this is the Dutch driver’s second consecutive victory.
Each team will have three drivers, whwhomhey may switch out as necessary throughout the season. However, Lucas Blakeley has left Aston Martin to join the Veloce team during the winter, while the Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen F1 Esports Team has a brand-new lineup with Nicolas Longuet, Dani Bereznay, and Tomek Poradzisz. The complete entry list has not yet been made public.
Patrik Sipos, Samuel Bean, and Filip Prenajder will compete for Alpine Esports, while Fabrizio Donoso Delgada and Brendon Leigh, two former winners, will compete for Ferrari.
