2022 BWF World Championships Men’s Singles Second Round Results, Score, And Winners
Indian ace Lakshya Sen won his second round match against Luis Penalver in straight sets with a score of 21-17 21-10, completing the formality in 72 minutes. Sen, a bronze medalist at the world championships, continued to dominate his Spanish opponent after winning the first set and took the second game by a wider margin.
While this was going on, Srikanth’s performance in the first game was dismal, as he showed little fight and lost 9-21 before stepping up in the second. However, the Indian shuttler’s performance was insufficient, and he was eliminated from the championships after succumbing a 17-21 defeat in the second set. In another second-round match, unseeded Prannoy outperformed expectations to defeat audience favorite and two-time former world champion Momota in straight sets with a score of 21-17 21-16.
