A screenshot of a tweet purportedly written by soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo has gone viral. The tweet dating back to 2018, which included a photo of Ronaldo and Kapoor, read that:
This unknown guy forcefully rushed in to my dressing room and forced me to take a selfie with him the way we look like friends. What a looser.”
After this screenshot went viral, netizens were quick to make fun of Arjun Kapoor without checking the reality but after thorough check by multiple sources, it has been confirmed that Ronaldo never made such a tweet involving Arjun Kapoor. Even after confirmation, questions remained regarding the authenticity of Arjun Kapoor’s picture with Cristiano Ronaldo.
When did Arjun Kapoor click a picture with Cristiano Ronaldo?
To identify if the picture in tweet was authentic, many searched for the source of popular image, which led people to discover the post from May 16, 2018, on Arjun Kapoor’s Instagram account. In the Instagram picture, Arjun Kapoor tagged the bag manufacturer American Tourister and wished Cristiano luck for 2018 UCL final in Kiev & 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Later, a video posted on 22nd June, 2018 by American Tourister brand’s official YouTube channel was discovered. In the video, meeting between Ronaldo and Kapoor was shown and the video description clarified that 19 influencers from across the world met Ronaldo in Madrid for the particular event. Indian actor Ayushmann Khurrana was also a part of the event and clicked a picture alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
After the supporting video and post have resurfaced, people are beginning to realize that Arjun Kapoor indeed clicked a consensual picture with Cristiano Ronaldo as opposed to the claims made in the viral fake tweet image.
