In a statement to The Independent, the MPDย said that Rapoport received first assistance at the site from ambulance personnel before being transferred to a hospital, where he was subsequently declared dead.

Who Was Dan Rapoport?
Dan Rapoport was a Latvia-born American investor and financial executive. He was recently in the news because he died mysteriously. While police find no foul in his death, netizens find it hard to digest this fact and many people speculated that he died because he was a critique of Vladimir Putin.
He was born in Riga, Latvia (then Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic of the USSR) in the 1990s. After being granted political asylum, his family immigrated to the United States of America in 1980 and lived in Houston, Texas. After graduating, he returned to Russia.
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in 1991, and later on, he received his MBA degree from Middlesex University in London in 2015.
He was married and his wife’s name is Alena Rapoport.
Russia’sย SECย accused himย of violating Section 15(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Rapoport came back to the US in June 2012. He reportedly left Russia mostly as a result of his backing for Alexei Navalny and the country’s democratic opposition.
Rapoport ran Rapoport Capital LLP while living in Washington, DC, up until 2016. He changed his address to Kyiv, Ukraine, in October 2016.
At the time of his death, he was just 52 years old.
His Career
After graduation, Dan Rapoport was hired by Phibro Energy in Russia. He was employed with White Nights Joint Enterprises as a financial analyst. He stayed in Russia after leaving Phibro and worked in corporate finance, brokerage, and investment banking.
He conducted several cross-border deals on behalf of Russian businesses and different foreign institutional investors while holding prominent roles with multiple Russian financial institutions.
Rapoport joined the CentreInvest Group in 1995 and was named managing director of CentreInvest Securities in 1999. He is based in New York. He worked as the executive director and was in charge of the brokerage division for CentreInvest Securities.
Death Cause Of Dan Rapoport
His cause of death is still yet to be determined. Rapoport’s death is still being investigated, according to MPD spokesperson Brianna Burch. She said, “We do not suspect foul play at this time.”
According to a police report received by The Independent, Rapoport died with a shattered smartphone, spectacles, a Florida driver’s licence, and $2,620 in cash on him. On the other hand, his wife has also ruled out the possibility of suicide. His net worth stood at $3 million.
