Earlier, reports surfaced suggesting that the Indian Olympic Association has officially announced the dates and events for the 38th National Games.

For the curious, the National Games began in 2014 with a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the IOA and the Uttrakhand State Olympic Association.
In the starting of the games, only 34 sports disciplines were proposed, but the finalized list, which was announced in 2023, included a total of 32 competitive sports and 4 demonstration events.
38th National Games Schedule
The 38th National Games, which is also known as Uttarakhand 2025, are set to take place from January 28 to February 24, 2025 but the full schedule is yet to be released. The games will be available for live streaming on DD Sports.
The National Games 2025 will be held in Uttrakhand across multiple locations such as FRIMA Gold Course, Roshnabad Sports Complex, Pavallion Ground Sports Complex, among many more.

Although, as of now, there aren’t any official information about the team details, however, reports suggest that there will be a total of 37 teams in National Games 2025 and it will feature more than 10,000 athletes.
The organizers of the National Games 2025 includes Uttarakhand Olympic Association, Government of Uttarakhand and Sports Directorate, Uttarakhand in partners with Indian Olympic Association, and Ministry of Youth Affairs.
Mascot
The mascot unveiling ceremony for the National Games 2025, was held at the Maharana Pratap Sports College in Raipur, Dehradun. It marked a cultural milestone.
The Chief Minister of Uttrakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami proposed the inclusion of two traditional Indian sports that is Yoga and Mallakhamb along with revealing the logo, mascot and theme song.
The mascot of this year’s tournament is named ‘Mouli’, inspired by Uttarakhand’s state bird, the Monal, symbolizes the state’s natural beauty and cultural diversity.
The games logo, featuring the Himalayan peaks framed by the arc-shaped wings of the Monal bird shining under sunlight, captures the essence of Uttarakhand’s natural beauty and the tagline, “Sankalp Se Shikhar Tak” (From Dedication to Pinnacle), reflects the spirit of the games with the theme for next year’s games being Green Games.
