It has been going since 1923 and is the world’s oldest ongoing endurance racing competition. Unlike fixed-distance races where the victor is determined by a minimum time, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is won by the car that travels the longest in a 24-hour period.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled to launch its new season from June 12 to June 16, 2024, following its centenary celebration this year and smashing attendance records with almost 325,000 spectators.
It is considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious races and is a part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, which also includes the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix. It is also one of the races that make up the unofficial Triple Crown of endurance racing, along with the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona. As the ticket sales go on sale soon, here is all you need to know about the tournament.
