A vocalist, Zuri Craig, who rose to fame through America’s Got Talent Season 10, left us for his heavenly abode, the artist passed away at the age of 44 on Friday

The tragic news of the former finalist’s demise was confirmed by his family as they posted a tribute to him via his official ZoReMi Entertainment page.

The tribute post reads, “It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of our beloved son, brother and friend, Zuri Craig.”

“We thank you in advance for your prayers. Please honor our privacy at this unimaginable time of mourning.”

The cause of the actor’s death is yet to be known.

Who was Zuri Craig?

Zuri Craig, who was born in Metropolitan Washington, DC, on July 20, 1978, was a vocalist as well as an actor.

He started his career as a singer from childhood. However, his love for music prompted him to audition for Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

At the time, the artist got selected and he played a solo in a high school talent show. During the show, he performed Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.”

For which he was awarded high school choir’s membership. Soon enough, he became the lead singer and started to sing at several shows across the Metro area of DC.

After completing his high school, Zuri went on and joined Clark Atlanta University where he participated in freshman year show. At the event he found his singing partner, Jeffrey Lewis.

The two formed their own band right after the event and named it CraigLewis. The pair even started off their YouTube channel and started broadcasting their talent via platform.

Back in 2009, Tyler Perry asked them to join his new play titled “Madea’s Big Happy Family,” after he watched their channel.

After joining hands with Perry, the duo performed at various multiple shows and even appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The two even participated in the Season 10 of America’s Got Talent and even managed to become top 5. His family details are not known but he was said to be unmarried with his net worth at #1 million.
