A cricket field is a huge grassy area that is often round or oval in shape, as opposed to usual courses and fields for ball games. Based on the current geography of the campus, the Zhejiang University of Technology (Pingfeng Campus) Cricket Field is shaped like an oval field with a long axis of 150m and a short axis of 120m. It cover the area that is roughly 13,500m2, or two standard football fields.
In the middle of the field is a rectangular area that is 26.5 m by 12. 5 m. The main action occurs here, also referred to as the pitch. There are 4 strips in all. The northeastern corner of the pitch is home to 1,347 spectator seats and functional rooms. The venue’s front, which has “ZJUT Red” as the primary colour, wonderfully complements the aesthetic of the university as does the hollow brick wall design.
Prefabricated steel structures are used at the location. This structure not only satisfies the needs of green and industrialised construction but also helps save a lot of time thanks to its lighter weight and improved anti-seismic performance compared to ordinary building materials.

The Cricket Field at Zhejiang University of Technology (Pingfeng Campus) began construction on November 17, 2020, and it was finished on June 30, 2021. After the Hangzhou Asian Games, the indoor gymnasium will be converted into an activity centre, a conference centre, and additional teaching and learning facilities based on the original design.
