Prediction
Elise Mertens and Zhang Shuai, the top seeds, fought their way past unseeded Danielle Collins and Desirae Krawczyk to advance to the Wimbledon final in the women’s doubles semifinal on Friday.
On the other hand, Krejcikova and Siniakova best their opponents in straight sets to book the final spot.
Mertens, who also won the 2019 US Open and 2021 Australian Open with Belarussian Aryna Sabalenka, has won three major women’s doubles titles. Meanwhile, Zhang, who won the 2019 Australian Open and 2021 US Open titles with Australian Samantha Stosur, has won two.
Krejcikova and Siniakova, the Olympic champions, won the Australian Open in January, putting them one US Open victory away from completing a career Grand Slam together. They won five straight games to take the opening set, then finished the match with a run of four more games in a commanding performance. The duo is expected to clinch another doubles Grand Slam this season.
