Early years
Khan was born in Chakswari, Mirpur District, Kashmir, and his father a daily labourer was against him playing cricket, enrolling him in a madrasa after school, where he still learns the Qur’an by heart today. However, thanks to his uncle’s encouragement, he later joined different cricket clubs in Mirpur, and through his performance and bowling speed, he was noticed and got a chance to participate in the Kashmir Premier League in 2021, which would be the breakthrough for his career.

Personal life
After Lahore Qalandars won PSL 7 and defeated Multan Sultans in the final, the team went on a tour to visit and celebrate various sites and players’ homes, including Wagha Border, Geo News HQ, and Cricketer houses. Shaheen Afridi, the captain of the Lahore Qalandars, urged the COO of the Lahore Qalandars to construct a house for him after seeing Zaman Khan’s home. Zaman Khan was a poor man who lived in a small mud hut with a leaking roof.
Domestic and T20 career
In the Kashmir Premier League in 2021, Zaman played for Rawalakot Hawks.
In December 2021, Zaman was appointed to Lahore Qalandar’s roster for the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League. Zaman wowed everyone with his ‘Malinga’ bowling style. His low economy rate bowling helped Lahore win nail-biting matches. Lahore Qalandars won their first title in six years thanks to his bowling heroics. He was named “Emerging Player of the Season” after taking 18 wickets.
