Zach took the easy way out, where he won’t have to answer for his actions. He has the luxury of pretending our lives never happened. He’s opted to remain silent. He has decided not to provide me with any closure. I, on the other hand, had to bear the enormous sorrow and hurt he created. Unlike him, I couldn’t get away from it. “I had to face the truth of it all,” she wrote.

Despite feeling “ashamed to tell [her] tale” for some time, Megan said Monday that she was completing divorce papers as she goes on to the next chapter of her life by “reclaiming [her] authority.”

The couple tied the knot in December of 2016.

“Now I’m signing divorce papers from someone who hasn’t said anything to me till today.” It feels weird, but I know his path will ultimately catch up with him. As for me, I know I’ll be OK. It’s more than alright because of the mountain I had to climb to get here.

I felt embarrassed for a long time. I’m embarrassed to tell my experience, embarrassed that my marriage ended, and humiliated by the way he handled everything, but I’m discovering that sharing your truth has so much power. So today, I’m reclaiming my authority from someone who never earned it in the first place,” she said at the end of her essay.

Meanwhile, as of Wednesday, Davies has not responded to Megan’s message. Since September 2020, when he was a member of the San Diego Padres, the 29-year-old pitcher hasn’t posted on Instagram or Twitter.
