Zabit Magomedsharipov Health Condition Explained As He Announces Retirement From UFC, Age, Height, Stats, Net Worth And Instagram
Magomedsharipov issued an Instagram message on Thursday that detailed the months leading up to his final decision and why he chose to retire from professional mixed martial arts competition. Despite his unbeaten UFC record and status as a major championship contender, he made the decision.
Magomedsharipov, 31, cited health concerns and postponed fights as the two key factors that influenced his final decision.
“Greetings, friends! Assalamu alaikum!” Many of you have been waiting for my comeback, and there hasn’t been a day when someone hasn’t inquired as to when my next bout will be. However, I made the decision to stop participating in professional sports.
“Fight interruptions, followed by health issues — all of this prevented me from performing/fighting earlier. I’m back to normal now, although I don’t feel as well as I used to.”
Magomedsharipov, 31, hasn’t competed since a victory over Calvin Kattar in Moscow in November 2019. He was supposed to fight Yair Rodriguez in August 2020, but Rodriguez withdrew due to injury, so he wasn’t rebooked. Magomedsharipov leaves professional MMA with a 14-fight winning streak and an undefeated record in the UFC.
Magomedsharipov received four post-fight performance bonuses in six UFC outings, thanks to his showy fighting style and outrageously awkward and athletic movements.
Mike Santiago, Sheymon Moraes, Kyle Bochniak, Brandon Davis, Jeremy Stephens, and Kattar were among his UFC opponents. He is said to suffer from a severe immune system disease, one said to be life threatening which curtailed his career. With 18 wins in 19 MMA fights, his net worth stood at $550,000.
