“Y’all say anything,” Leonard Fournette Discloses His Actual Weight Before Deleting Tweet After Bucs Fume As He Weighs 260 Pounds

When it comes to his weight, Leonard Fournette has spoken out about the “weight gate,” on Twitter

Fournette reportedly weighed close to 260 pounds during the Buccaneers’ required minicamp, which led to reports on Monday morning that the team’s coaches were not thrilled with him.

The coaches were not happy, and that is an understatement when Fournette skipped the OTAs but then showed up for the compulsory minicamp weighing darn near 260 “Rick Stroud said (first transcribed by BucsWire). “And that’s not good for the person you just agreed to a three-year contract with.

On Twitter, Fournette refuted the claim and stated that he weighed 245 at the time.

Fournette tweeted, “No, I weighed 245 y’all say whatever.”

Based on such a remark, it is clear that he is not worried about his weight.

Given that they recently extended his contract by three more years, the Buccaneers most certainly have great hopes for Fournette this year. He had 180 carries for 812 rushing yards and eight touchdowns by the end of the 2021–22 season.

Coaches with the Buccaneers were not pleased with Leonard Fournette’s weight before

In March, Fournette committed to a three-year, $21 million deal.

The 27-year-old signed a three-year, $21 million contract with Tampa Bay this offseason as a result of all of that. The Bucs coaches don’t seem to be overly pleased with how Fournette has conducted himself, though, now that the contract has been signed. He missed all of the offseason OTAs, and when he did show up for the required minicamp, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, the coaches were dissatisfied with his conditioning and nearly 260-pound weight.

On the Sports Day Tampa Bay podcast, Stroud stated of Fournette, Coaches were not happy, and that’s an understatement when he didn’t participate in the OTAs, but then he shows up at the mandatory minicamp weighing darn near 260 pounds.

And that’s not good for a person you just signed a three-year contract with.

On the Buccaneer’s website, Fournette is officially listed as weighing 228 pounds, which indicates that he may be 30 pounds overweight. In the Bucs’ offence during the previous two seasons, the veteran has established himself as a three-down back. However, if he continues to carry that weight, things might change, especially with pass-catching possibilities like Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Giovani Bernard on the squad. Additionally, Arizona State running back Rachaad White was selected by Tampa Bay in the third round.

On July 26, veterans will formally report to the Buccaneers’ training camp, and Fournette’s conditioning will undoubtedly be one of the first storylines to be followed.
