CM Punk talked about his AEW debut and return to the land of professional wrestling ensuing his appearance at Rampage
Out of wrestling for a string of years ever since his fallout with WWE, CM Punk is finally back on the big stage. Signing up with AEW, the superstar grace the land of the competition today as he made his debut at Last Dance.
And it was an entrance like none other, one which even the biggest belevers of AEW wou;nd’t have envisaged. A sold out Chicago United Center went bonkers upon seeing CM Punk, a frenzy which ended up distorting even the speakers present in the arena.
The boisterous welcome he received was a slap in the face of Vince McMahon, the CEO of WWE. Where his company is regressing and on a downtick as viewership goes down and wrestlers are released, AEW is on a steady uptick, an organisation which is fast eating into WWE’s numbers.
CM Punk Talks About Time At WWE Upon His Return
Sitting down with Tony Khan ensuing his debut, CM Punk spoke at length about why he had decided to finally make his return. He dwelled upon what had transpired in the course of the last year as he talked about how he and Tony were in discussions since the last year and a half.
Divulging how he had held elaborate discussions with a slew of people involved with the company, CM Punk revealed that he only decided to move ahead once he was at ease that everything was ironed out. He also went onto detail how unlike the hate he had received at WWE, the AEW had opened its arms up to him and appreciated him.
When I was sick, tired and hurt and I realized these people (WWE) wouldn’t care if I died today, there’d be another show tomorrow. I didn’t know how long it was going to take for me to heal, and then this came along. Credit to everybody involved in AEW, it reminded me of places where I used to work that I love,” CM Punk said.
