Vince McMahon kicked-off this week’s episode of Smackdown as he came down in the ring and asked the audience “where the hell have you been?” before returning to the locker room. The event then, moved into its advertised six-man tag team match between Roman Reigns, The Usos and Edge, The Mysterios. While Reigns won the match, the audience went wild when Edge had the last laugh as he trapped Reigns into a steel-assisted crossface.

The next big thing to take place was the return of ‘The Prince’ Finn Balor to the Blue Brand. Sami Zayn entered into the arena and continued his rant about his unjust exclusion from the Men’s Ladder Match. At this moment, Finn Balor made his electric entrance, confronting his fellow former NXT champion to a big reaction. The segment ended as The Prince countered a sneak attack by Zayn and finished him off with the Coup de Grace.

Following Bayley’s injury, Bianca Belair’s title defense was dropped from the MITB match card and was advertised to take place against Carmella on Smackdown instead. The EST of WWE successfully defended the Smackdown Women’s title. In the climax of the match, Carmella scored a near-fall and pulled at the champion’s ponytail. Belair reversed and whipped her with it in the midsection as she delivered the KOD for a win.

The blockbuster main event was a Fatal-4-Way match between four of the Men’s MITB Ladder Match participants: King Nakamura, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Big E. Owens delivering a top-rope elbow drop off a ladder and Big E spearing through the middle rope were some of the high spots of the match. The climax saw Rollins pin Big E and steal the spotlight, though no one expects him to take the real win this Sunday since he is prepping for a Summerslam match with Edge.
