WWE Live Shows Rumored To Return: Cyber Sunday, King Of The Ring And Old School Raw

As WWE live events move out of the virtual space within a month, Cyber Sunday and other live shows like Old School Raw and King of The Ring are rumored to return.

Fans are rejoicing ever since WWE mentioned that they will resume the adrenaline pumping live shows from next month. Hell in a Cell, which takes place this Sunday, will be the last PPV to air from the Thunderdome. WWE will return to live action from the July 16th episode of SmackDown, which is the go-home show for Money in the Bank.

WWE Rumored To Bring Back Themed Live Shows Including Cyber Sunday And King of the Ring

In consequence to this, WrestleVotes has reported in a recent tweet that WWE will potentially start looking at more “themed” live shows now. King of the Ring, Cyber Sunday and Old School Raw were some of the archaic concepts mentioned. With these shows, WWE could spice up the rather mundane period the main roster has gone through so far. Wrestlevotes predicts this will happen in late 2021 or early 2022.

The company had discontinued the King of the Ring tournament following the 2002 event. However, it was brought back in 2019 as a part of Baron Corbin’s ‘King’ gimmick. As for Cyber Sunday, it used to be a pretty interesting concept till its discontinuation and replacement by Bragging Rights in 2009.

About WWE Cyber Sunday Return

Cyber Sunday was distinctive in the sense that WWE allowed fans to vote on certain aspects of every match. They would use their personal computers and text message via mobile phones to cast their votes. The voting typically began in the middle of an episode of Raw a few weeks beforehand and ended during the pay-per-view, often moments before the match was scheduled to begin.

After Cyber Sunday was discontinued, the fan interaction aspects of the pay-per-view were incorporated into Raw as WWEActive or RawActive for some Raw episodes. Then, eventually the concept was dropped altogether.
