Jerry Lawler, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, was taken to the hospital after having a stroke, per a TMZ story. The 73-year-old underwent surgery at a facility in Florida.
Lawler, 73, who has a condo in the south of Fort Myers, went out to lunch with friends on Monday when he fell ill and had to be taken to the hospital. Dave Brown, the longtime friend of Lawler, told the Memphis Commercial Appeal that he spoke to Lawler on FaceTime early on Tuesday afternoon and was extremely happy to hear that he was making progress with his stroke recovery.

His full name is Jerry O’Neil Lawler. He was born on November 29, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S. His father’s name is Jerome Lawler. He graduated from Treadwell High School.
He married several times. First, he married his first wife, Kay. Together with her, he had two kids, one of whom is Brian Christopher, and the other is Kevin. After divorcing her in 1978, he married Paula Lawler in 1991. However, they also got divorced later in 1991. Later in September 2000, he married Stacy Carter. However, they got divorced in 2003.

Jerry Lawler started his career in the 1970s and became well-known as a heel wrestler in the Southern US. He won several regional titles, like the CWA World Heavyweight Championship and the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.
Later, he joined the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) in the 1990s as a commentator and sporadic performer, and he became a mainstay of the company’s broadcasts for more than two decades. In 1997, he earned the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and in 1998, he gained the World Heavyweight Championship.
Although Lawler stopped competing in in-ring matches in the early 2010s, he remained a commentator for WWE until his departure in 2021. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
