2023 WTT Star Contender Goa qualifying round winners, score, main-draw schedule, & prize money pool distribution
Sutirtha Mukherjee, ranked 146th in the world for women’s singles, defeated Chinese Taipei’s 92nd-ranked player Li Yu-Jhun 3-0 (11-9,11-8,11-6) in round two. To qualify for the main-draw, the Indian paddler overcame South Korea’s Eunhye Lee by score of 3-1 (11-9,6-11,11-6,11-8) in round three. On Wednesday, Sutirtha will compete against fellow countrywoman Suhana Saini in the main draw.
A headline-grabbing performance by Lam Yee Lok on Tuesday secured her a spot in the main-draw of WTT Star Contender Goa 2023 competition. Despite scheduled to face-off against heavy favorite Adina Diaconu, Lam threw caution to the wind in a sensational performance against the World No. 72 before wrapping the game within four frames. Yashaswini Ghorpade defeated higher-ranked Joo Cheonhui (11-7, 11-6, 9-11, 11-8) and Kim Nayeong (11-6, 1-11, 5-11, 11-5, 11-7) to secure her spot in the main draw, which was another impressive outcome for an Indian player.
