From today, the WTT Star Contender Goa tournament debuted in the Goa’s capital, Panaji, with an all-star line-up. Harmeet Desai and Sutirtha Mukherjee are only two of the Indian paddlers who have qualified for the next round of this ongoing competition.

2023 WTT Star Contender Goa qualifying round winners, score, list of players, & prize money pool distribution
On Monday, WTT Star Contender Goa kicked-off with the qualifying round matches and right from the beginning, Indian fans were treated to a nail-biting match as local star Ronit BHANJA & Sutirtha MUKHERJEE won their first-round tie against KANG Dongsoo & SUH Hyowon. In the first day of qualifying competition at WTT Star Contender Goa 2023, Harmeet Desai defeated Tom Jarvis while saving two match points. By scores of 9-11, 12-10, 12-10, 11-13, & 12-10, Desai triumphed over Jarvis 3-2 while playing at home turf.
Monday also saw the start of the Mixed Doubles, which required several well-known paddlers to navigate the qualifying rounds. During his 3-1 victory over Tin-Tin Ho & Samuel Walker, Patrick Franziska & Xiaona Shan displayed composure and although it was the Germans’ second game together, they seemed at ease as they qualified for the next round in Goa.
