2024 WTT Star Contender Doha latest results, schedule, scores, & Indian performance
In the Women’s Singles Round of 64, Manika Batra engaged in a closely contested match against Yangzi Liu, securing victory with a score of 11-9, 5-11, 6-11, 11-6, 7-11. Yashaswini Ghorpade faced a tough battle in the Women’s Singles Round of 64 against Elizabeta Samra, concluding with a score of 12-10, 6-11, 10-12, 8-11.
Meanwhile, the Men’s Doubles Round of 16 witnessed a successful performance by the duo Manush Utpalbhai Shah and Manav Vikash Thakkar, defeating Mohammed Abdulwahhab and Abdullah Abdulwahhab with a score of 11-4, 15-13, 11-6. Unfortunately, Yashaswini Ghorpade and Sreeja Akula faced a setback in the Women’s Doubles Round of 16, losing 6-11, 7-11, 5-11 to Qian Tianyi and Chen Xingtong.
In the Mixed Doubles Round of 16, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manika Batra faced a formidable challenge against Lin Shidong and Kuai Man, ultimately suffering a defeat with a score of 4-11, 2-11, 4-11. Despite their best efforts, the Indian pair couldn’t secure a victory in the match. Looking ahead, on Thursday, Manish and Manav are set to compete against Jang Woojin & An Jaehyun, with a spot in the men’s doubles semi-final hanging in the balance.
