Quadri Aruna of Nigeria and Egypt’s Omar Assar, Africa’s table tennis sensations, will lead the African contingent to the 2024 Saudi Smash at the Sports Hall King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. On 4th May, the aforementioned players will commence their men’s singles title quest. Similarly, Egyptian paddlers Dina Meshref and Hana Goda will begin their campaign from the women’s singles main draw.

2024 WTT Saudi Smash latest results, schedule, scores, & Indian performance
On Wednesday at the Saudi Smash 2024, Harmeet Desai clinched a 3-0 (18-16, 11-8, 12-10) win against Mihai Bobocica to secure his place in the second qualifying round. While Manav Vikash had a close game against Mehdi Bouloussa with a score line of 3-2, it was enough to earn the ticket for the next round of the qualifiers. On Thursday, he will play against Benendik Olah with a spot in the final qualifying round at stake.
In the women’s singles, Sutirtha Mukherjee emerged victorious against Hana Arapovic by score of 3-0 to keep her title quest alive. To qualify for the main draw, she will face-off against Yadira Silva on Thursday. In another tie, Archana Kamath lost 2-3 against Filippa Bergand to crash out of the tournament. Meanwhile, Yashaswini Ghorpade will play against Altinkaya Sibel on Thursday to qualify for the third qualifying round.

In Australia, SBS aired the Singapore Smash on their free-to-air TV channel, but they haven’t confirmed whether they will telecast the Saudi Smash. As per reports, the 2024 Saudi Smash will offer a net prize pool of $2,000,000 alongside ranking points.
