WTT annual exhibition event WTT Macao ended after five days of breathtaking matches. On Sunday, the Women’s singles finals and Men’s singles final took place and closed the curtains on the tournament.

Women’s Singles Finals And Result
In the women’s singles finals, world number 4 Wang Manyu emerged victorious after a straight four-set win. Wang won the final after a dominant performance against five-time world champion Liu Shiwen. Wang completely outclassed Liu with technically superior performance and won 11-5, 11-7, 11-7, 12-10.
Manyu earned the gold medal and 45,000-dollar prize money.
WTT Macao will still be a memorable event for Liu Shiwen, who earlier claimed the mixed doubles gold medal with her partner Xu Xin.
Men’s Singles Final Result, Winner And Score
The men’s singles finals went to the wire as world number 12 Wang Chuqin won 4-3. The 30-year-old veteran Lin Gaoyuan was leading 3-2 after five sets, but Wang made a comeback and claimed the last two sets to seal his win. Wang defeated Lin with a scoreline of 11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 10-12, 14-12,11-9 to claim the gold medal along with a 45,000-dollar winning amount.
Wang shook off his earlier frustrations after elimination in the first round of mixed doubles with the singles champion title. He overcame a throng of strong opponents on his way to win the men’s singles title.
WTT Macao Bids Goodbye
WTT Macao is one of the promotional exhibition tournaments which features a star-studded line-up for the whole tournament. Despite providing no WTT points, the tournament comes with a net prize pool of 8,00,000 USD. WTT Macao 2021 edition featured an all-star line-up from China, including Ma Long and Xu Xin.
WTT Macao received positive reviews from the TT fans worldwide, as fans got the opportunity to enjoy five days’ worth of Table Tennis live on YouTube. The tournament took place at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion, and Galaxy Entertainment Group sponsored it. The sponsor partnered with WTT Macao because they were convinced that the tournament will take Macao’s sports industry to new levels.
