Men’s Singles and Women’s Singles Round of 64 Results
Wang Manyu, the world champion, defeated Liu Hsing-yin of Chinese Taipei 3-0 (11-6, 11-1, 11-7) while Ma Long, the world No. 2 in men’s singles, defeated Portuguese Marcos Freitas 3-1 (11-5, 5-11, 11-3, 11-5). In the evening session, Portugal’s 62nd-ranked Joao Geraldo defeated Brazil’s world No. 3 Hugo Calderano 3-2 (10-12, 11-3, 11-7, 10-12, 11-6)
In the Women’s Singles of WTT Singapore Grand Smash, No. 9 in the world Feng Tianwei was eliminated after losing 3-1 (11-9, 5-11, 11-9, 11-6) against China’s 18-year-old sensation Kuai Man, who advanced to the second round and will face compatriot and top-ranked Sun Yingsha.

WTT Grand Smash Singapore 2022 Format and Prize Money Pool Distribution
The first-ever WTT Grand Smash is taking place in Singapore, ushering in a new era for professional table tennis. Grand Smashes are the most prestigious events in the WTT, and winning one is the goal of every table tennis player. The table tennis community will witness all of World Table Tennis’ innovations in a world-class event with engaging fan-centric programming for two weeks.
The Singapore Smash will be the first of four new professional table tennis pillars to emerge. Fans will be treated to two weeks of thrilling knockout elimination table tennis action, with singles, doubles, and mixed doubles divisions, as players battle for the highest prize pool ever seen at an officially sanctioned table tennis event: USD2,000,000.
The main draw for the event will take place from March 11 to March 20, 2022 and will feature a 64-player draw for men’s and women’s singles, a 24-pair draw for men’s and women’s doubles, and a 16-pair draw for mixed doubles. From the 7th to the 9th of March, a 64-Draw qualification round will precede the Singles events. 2,000 ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking Points will be awarded to all champions.
