Beginning on Monday, the picturesque coastal city of Antalya, nestled along the pristine Mediterranean shoreline, is all set to host the table tennis spectacle known as WTT Contender Antalya 2023. Notably, this event is scheduled to grace the Gloria Sports Hall from October 16th to October 22nd, signifying Turkey’s inaugural venture into hosting a WTT Series event.
This event, the 11th of its kind this year, is poised to make a thrilling addition to the global table tennis calendar. WTT Contender Antalya 2023 encompasses five distinct competitions: Men’s singles, Women’s singles, Men’s doubles, Women’s doubles, and Mixed doubles. Antalya now joins the distinguished ranks of host cities for WTT Series events, which include Lanzhou, Muscat, Frankfurt, Taiyuan, and Nagoya, slated to hold events in the latter part of 2023.
The Indian representation at the highly anticipated WTT Contender Antalya 2023 features Manika Batra and Gnanasekaran. In the men’s singles, the dynamic Sathiyan Gnanasekaran will be aspiring to make his mark in the tournament.
