On January 8, Jerry Wade, the esteemed Indy radio DJ, passed away at 62 in Indianapolis, as reported by ABC affiliate WRTV due to a heart attack.

Jerry Wade’s journey in the radio industry was nothing short of legendary. Affectionately nicknamed “The Loverman” by his devoted fans, he hosted the renowned radio show “The Quiet Storm with The Loverman Jerry Wade” from Sunday to Thursday every week. His show consistently broke records and topped radio charts by cementing his status as a radio icon.

Beyond the radio booth, Jerry Wade was a man of many talents and passions. He wasn’t just a DJ; he was an entrepreneur, owning salons across Indianapolis under the name Hot Cuts and operating a mobile DJ service called Jerry Wade Live.

In a 2020 interview, Jerry Wade revealed plans to launch a new event space in downtown Indianapolis around Monument Circle.
