India’s WTC Final 2021 Batting Order
Rohit Sharma did a decent job against Australia earlier this year but he’ll look to do more this time. Shubman Gill was excellent on that tour, his 91 in the last test at Gabba set up the chase for India in that game.
Cheteshwar Pujara will bat at 3. He’ll hold the batting together for India. Skipper Virat Kohli will bat 4 and we all know what he can do with the bat in hand. He’s the best batsman in this team.
Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant will form the middle order in the Indian batting. Rahane led the side in Virat’s absence in Australia and performed well with the bat too. His form wasn’t good against England a few months ago and he’ll be eyeing to improve on that.
Rishabh Pant has grown more and more as a batter since the last BGT Trophy. He performed well against England too and has moved to rank 6th in ICC Test rankings. He’ll be very important with the bat and will also keep the wickets.
India’s WTC Final 2021 Bowling Order
Ravindra Jadeja’s return to the side will be a huge boost to the Indian side as the all-rounder has been in form of his life. He’ll be crucial with both bat and the ball for India. Ravichandran Ashwin has been terrific in the test format throughout this year. He’s second in the bowler’s test ranking. India will want him to replicate his recent performances on this tour.
The trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammad Shami will form India’s pace bowling attack. They have been outstanding in recent times with the red cherry in their hand.
Bumrah and Ishant did well in the recent series against England while Shami’s return from the injury will boost the bowling strength of this Indian side. There can be a toss-up between Shami and Mohammad Siraj for the third pacer’s role but Shami is expected to retain his spot.
