WTC Final Date: What Will Be India’s Bio-Bubble For the World Test Championship Final

WTC Final Date: India will be touring England for the WTC finals against New Zealand and a 5 match test series against England. What will be their bio-bubble and quarantine rules?

Indian cricket team will be leaving for England for a four-month-long tour. They first will go against the New Zealand team in the World Test Championship final at Southampton starting on the 18th of June and will lock horns against England in a 5-match test series the first game being played from the 4th of August.

There will be a gap of more than a month after the world test championship final and India’s first test against England.

The players will be joined by their families on this four-month-long tour. The players will have to go through the mandatory quarantine period before entering into the bio-bubble in which they will be spending their next four months. The Indian Premier League got indefinitely postponed due to a bio-bubble breach so the quarantine is expected to be more strict for the tour.

The Indian team along with their family members will have to spend 8 days in a bio-bubble in India, starting the 25th of May before departing for the UK. Players will be tested regularly during this phase and no travel be allowed.

It will be like dividing the quarantine period into two phases which will be eventually helpful for the players as they will be allowed to practice during the 10-days quarantine period in England because it will be a “bio-bubble to bio-bubble movement” from India.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah are expected to be present at the World Test Championship final in Southampton. It’s speculated that they might have a talk with the ECB about hosting the remaining games of IPL 2021 in England.
