The Greek professional came past players like defending champion Paula Badosa, Rybakina, Kvitova, etc at the BNP Paribas Open and at the Qatar Open, she reached the last four defeating players like Gauff, Pegula. The No. 4 ranked 26-year-old had a bad run at Miami but her extraordinary moves can cause trouble to her opponents as seen this year.
3. Paula Badosa
In her last event, Badosa reached the quarterfinals of the tournament before losing to Belinda Bencic at the Charleston Open. Same level advancement at the Miami Open where she lost against Jessica Pegula. The Spaniard dusted off some quality players at the Indian Wells Masters this year namely, Sakkari in the semifinals, Kudermetova, Fernandez, etc. The No. 3 rank tells a lot about why she is in the top three this year and had some very good advancements at the tours that make her one of the most promising players to win in Stuttgart.
4. Anett Kontaveit
The Estonian is one of the toughest players to be played against that she showed at this year’s Qatar Open coming past players like Jelena Ostapenko at the semis, Ons Jabeur in quarters, and Mertens before she lost to unbeatable Iga Swiatek of course the winner of the tournament.
