The clay season is back. Before the French Open begins, Porsche Tennis Grand Prix also known as Stuttgart Open will be started from April 16 to April 24 as a warm-up event ahead of the Grand Slam.
Ashleigh Barty, who announced her retirement this year suddenly, is the current Stuttgart Open champion defeating Aryna Sabalenka in singles.
The WTA 500 categorised event in Stuttgart, Germany in 2022 will be the 44th edition of the tournament.

Bianca Andreescu, the 2019 US Open champion will be making her Porsche Tennis Grand Prix Debut with a wild card entry. Emerging Polish star Iga Swiatek who won three WTA 1000 tournaments back to back this year namely Qatar Open, Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open and Maria Sakkari is leading the stacked tournament entries. British Emma Raducanu and Coco Gauff will also be seen for the first time playing at the WTA 500 tournament in Germany.
Venue
The tournament is held at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart in Germany and will be played indoors on Red Clay.
