With the exception of the 2017 edition, when it was reduced to the WTA 125 category, the tournament has typically been categorised as a WTA 250 event. Over the years, several well-known athletes have participated in this game. Other former champions include Venus Williams, Caroline Wozniacki, Karolina Pliskova, and Agnieszka Radwanska in addition to Sharapova.

The Seoul Olympic Park Tennis Center in Seoul, South Korea, will host the competition.

Schedule
The qualifying rounds will occur on September 17 and 18, while the main draw will start on September 19 (Monday). Matches in the first and second rounds will be held from Monday through Thursday. On Friday, the quarterfinals will take place, and on Saturday and Sunday, the semifinals and final, respectively.
Players, Seeds and Draw
Jelena Ostapenko and Emma Raducanu, two of the tournament’s greatest stars, are in the top half of the draw and may face off in the semifinals.
Magda Linette, a finalist at the Chennai Open, and Linda Fruhvirtova are two additional well-known players in this group. Another player to watch is Katie Swan, who recently advanced to the semifinals in Chennai. Kristina Mladenovic, who won the doubles title at the 2022 French Open, is also listed here.
Eugenie Bouchard, a former runner-up at Wimbledon, also participated in the competition with a protected ranking. The Canadian is now making a comeback and had a strong showing in her previous competition, the Chennai Open. She advanced to the quarterfinals but fell to Nadia Podoroska there in three sets. Tatjana Maria, a 2022 Wimbledon semifinalist, is another player to keep an eye on.
