The Bad Homburg Open is a women’s professional tennis tournament held in the Bad Homburg Tennis Club in Bad Homburg, Germany, on outdoor grass courts. The event, which is a WTA 250 tournament on the WTA Tour, first took place in June 2021 after being postponed from 2020 because of the COVID-19 epidemic.
The inauguration was to be held in 2020 but the pandemic forced it to the 2021 year as it’s the first edition. This is the event’s second edition being organised.

The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) stated in September 2019 that it would invest in new grass tennis competitions to be held before the ATP and WTA Tour’s Wimbledon Championships. A WTA event planned for Bad Homburg with the assistance of German sports agency Perfect Match as well as German tennis player Angelique Kerber and her management team, after which she would become the tournament ambassador, was one of the new investments.
Angelique Kerber is the women’s singles champion of the Bad Homburg Open while Darija Jurak and Andreja Klepac are the champions of the doubles category.
