Ryan Reynolds dedicates a video to Jay Fear, a Wrexham fan who passed away at age 45 following an appendix cancer struggle

After Wrexham supporter Jay Fear passed away at age 45 after a battle with cancer, Ryan Reynolds took the lead in the tributes. Fear had been given the all-clear until January when he was found to have terminal appendix cancer.

Hollywood A-lister Reynolds brought Fear to a Wrexham game last month after learning about his story. Fear had acknowledged his admiration for the 45-year-old and his desire to meet him in person. Reynolds promised “I’ll find him” after watching the conversation with Fear. Reynolds booked the tickets and met the entire family before the pair had their picture taken.

After Fear passed away this week, Reynolds sent a memorial on social media. The actor commented on Instagram after posting photos of himself with Fear and his family: “So glad to have spent time with Jay Fear. There wasn’t much of it left. I’ll never take for granted and never forget the fact that he gave his time to others so freely. This dude was alive. I’m sending Deb, Jess, and Sam my deepest sympathy and love.”
“RIP Jay Fear,” Reynolds later said on to his Instagram Story. “Deb, Sam, and Jess, I appreciate you letting me know about your dad. I am aware of how inadequate my words must be in light of your severe loss. I’m sending you my family’s love from Wrexham and everywhere else. I cherished every minute I had with Jay.”
Fear mentioned his family after meeting the co-owner of Wrexham, adding that they would be the ones to remember what transpired for the rest of their life. She really hoped that they would always remember that as a key memory.
Many of Reynolds’ followers left supportive comments for Jay and his loved ones in response to his social media post. Among the comments was “Blessings on Jay and his family.” Another person said: “Really sad to hear Jay passed away. I wish his family and friends the best.
