Here is how much the Wrexham players earn at the club, know their salary and the total wage bill 

In the recent days the name of Wrexham Football club has been lingering on the mind of all the football fans after the Welsh side achieved back to back promotions.

The name Wrexham FC gained prominence ever since the Hollywood and Deadpool Star Ryan Reynolds became club’s co owner along with actor Rob McElhenney, who are said to have spent about £10 Million in reshaping the new league 1 upcomers.

Wrexham which is the third oldest professional Team in sports was promoted just last April to League 2 have now gone on to get another promotion this year in April and will now be playing in third tier League 1. With these consecutive promotions comes bonuses for the Players and the staff of the club leading us to wonder how much the Wrexham and their players earn.

The arrival of the new ownership under Ryan Reynolds/McElhenny provided a financial impetus to Wrexham allowing them to compete better with other clubs in the league. And thus post the takeover they’ve revitalized and revamped the first team with the aim of Promotion which they achieved recently.

How much do the players earn?

The exact pertaining salaries of the players is not yet confirmed either by the club or by the league but as per the rumors the highest paid player at the club is George Evans earning approximately £7,200 a week currently.

As per the data available on Capology, Wrexham spent around £5,576,400 on their annual salaries. As per the data revealed in clubs annual report the club suffered a deficit of nearly £3 million for the fiscal year which ends on June 30.

However, despite all this Wrexham’s annual turnover has reached £6 million recently. In an interview with S4C club’s Co owner McElhenny said:

I don’t think We’re exactly concerned with losing money as much as we’re concerned with making the club sustainable that was always our intent.”

The Wrexham co owner further added by saying:

Our ultimate goal is to build a sustainable model that will allow us to not only get to the Premier League, but sustain in the Premier League and eventually win the Premier League and be in the Champions League.”

Only time will tell whether McElhenny’s words will become reality or not but the way things are going one wouldn’t bet against it considering their sustainability model has put the club on the path of Success as well as sustainability.
