Who was wrestling legend Jerry Jarrett?

On September 4, 1942, Christine “Teeny” Jarrett gave birth to Jerry Jarrett. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee. When he was three years old, his parents split up. His mother, who also promoted wrestling, got him interested in it when he was young.

In 1977, Jarrett started the Continental Wrestling Association, which became one of the most successful wrestling promotions of the 1980s. The CWA was known for its unique mix of wrestling and entertainment, with stars like Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, and Jimmy Valiant.

Buying his own championship

In 1989, Jerry Jarrett brought together the CWA and World Class Championship Wrestling, which was based in Dallas. This made the United States Wrestling Association. With stars like Lawler, Dundee, Eddie Gilbert, and Jeff Jarrett, the USWA became one of the biggest wrestling promotions of the early 1990s.

In 1997, Jarrett sold his share of the USWA to Lawler. Then, in 2002, he started NWA:TNA with his son Jeff. Later that year, he sold his controlling share to Panda Energy International.
