For the Women’s IPL, BCCI received an offer of Rs 4,669.99 crore, which is greater than the offer for the Men’s IPL in 2008. As a result of the auction held in advance of the tournament’s debut season, which is set to take place in March, the Adani Group, Capri Global, and the owners of the Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore won bids for the five women’s IPL teams.

To enter the WPL, the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals bid, respectively, for Rs 912.99 crore, Rs 901 crore, and Rs 810 crore. The Lucknow franchise was acquired for Rs 757 crore by Capri Global Holdings.

Having failed to buy an IPL team when Lucknow and Ahmedabad were up for sale in 2021, Adani Group has now secured a franchise for the WPL.
