Many times the emotions of players on or off-field experience a sudden boil. These experiences are enjoyed to bits by the fans of these players as they get a new top to gossip upon. At times sports can be a headache for the players as well even they tend to lose their temper sometimes.
Worst Rugby Fights Ever
1- Manu Tuilagi v Chris Ashton, 2011
During the Premiership play-off semi-final, the center Manu Tuilagi punched Chris Ashton during the ongoing game because of some game dispute. Then He was banned for five to eight weeks from the sport.
2- The Lions 99 Call V South Africa
South Africans mostly plan rude attacks for the opponents. So, during a match in 1974, when Captain Willie John McBride devised the 99 calls and they gathered together. This call was devised to start a fight, believing that the referee would not send off the team Lions players involved.
3- Duncan McRae Hits Ronan O’Gara 11 times
In the year 2001 during the British and Irish Lions tour to Australia, Duncan McRae got hot-headed due to some personal disputes. He punched O’Gara out half 11 times leaving his face in need of medical aid and the player received 8 stitches above his eye. McRae was given a red card for these violent actions and this fight was the most dangerous in the history of rugby.
4- Salesi Ma’afu combo on Tom Youngs
Northampton Saints were against Leicester in a match where Ma’afu lashed the Youngs because of some false gaming practices. In actuality no, such evidence was recorded so it remains a one side story.
5- Sebastien Chabal KO’d Marc Giraud
During a match in the Pro D2 where Lyon was down 12-6, successfully the Chabal slowed down after a maul. Unfortunately left side of Giraud’s head was punched by Chabal. Giraud’s slumped immediately and Chabal was awarded a yellow card for his actions.
