With age Mike Gale saw his form rapidly diminishing, as a result, he ended up starting 70 games in the 1981/82 season, and playing nearly 24 minutes per game. In those games, Gale only averaged 5.6 points and 3.5 assists.

He played for Portland Trail Blazers, for whom he majorly sat on the bench during his rookie days. Yet he was given a chance to start as a guard for a brief team in the team.

This was deemed to be his natural position, yet game after game Jack kept on failing.

One of the old school players for Utah Jazz, he played in the Point Guard position for them for only a season. Wherein he averaged 6.6 points per game and just 2.4 assists.

It would be safe to say that Duck Williams was a boom or bust player as he scored 13 or more points in 7.7 percent of games that season while scoring five or fewer in 33 percent of games.
