The cycle of the World Test Championship 2021-2023 is about to end and the venue for the final is also decided, know all about what is the Prize Money for the WTC 2023

The final of the World Test Championship will be played at the Oval in June 2023. 5 teams are in the race for the final spot. Australia is leading the race with the best percentage of points. India is also looking like the strongest contender to get their name on the second spot of the table.

The winners of the prestigious trophy will get a whooping $1.6 Million (Rs.11.71 Crore) Cheque. The runner-up will get a $800,000 (Rs.5.85 Crore) prize cheque. In case the final test at Oval gets drawn then the prize money will get split between the two teams.

India and Australia likely to play in the WTC 2023 Final

Australia is currently playing a 3-match test series against South Africa which is 3rd place in the WTC Points table. The Aussies are on the verge of defeating South Africa in the 2nd test of the series.

Cummins and his men are leading the WTC Points table with 76.92. The second-place team in India with a PCT of 58.93. After a month both India and Australia are going to square off for a Test Series in India which will decide the faith of India’s qualification.

Currently, the only 2 teams who are competing with India for the 2nd place are South Africa and Sri Lanka. If South Africa wins all of their remaining four matches then they will progress through to the finals.

On the other hand, if Sri Lanka won their remaining 2 matches against New Zealand then they still need to be dependent on other teams to beat India and South Africa.

Oval to host the WTC 2023 Final

The Kennington Oval of London will host the final of the prestigious event. The exact dates of the final are yet to be confirmed but the final will take place in the month of June.
