The 2022 Betfred World Snooker Championship is a professional snooker competition that will be held at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England, from April 16 to May 2, 2022. It will be the 46th World Snooker Championship to be contested at the venue. The World Snooker Tour hosts the tournament, which is the 16th and final ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season.
2022 World Snooker Championship Tournament Schedule, Dates, Tickets And Venue
The tournament is taking place at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, England with the final is slated for Monday, May 2nd. The same venue is hosting the World Snooker Championship for the 46th consecutive year. Tickets for the fixtures can be bought here.
The tournament matches will take place in the following manner:
- April 16- April 21: First Round Matches
- 21st April- 25th April: Second Round Matches
- April 26- April 27: Quarter-final Matches
- April 28- April 30: Semi-final Matches
- May 1- May 2: Final
Tournament Format And Rules
The best of 19 frames will be present in the first round of the main draw, the best of 25 frames in the second round and quarter-finals, and the best of 33 frames in the semi-finals. The final will be a best-of-35-frames competition played over two days.

The first round of 2022 World Snooker Championship will be contested as a best of 19 frames between April 16 and 21. Three-time champion Williams defeated Welsh compatriot Michael White in the first seven sets, making breaks of 121, 90, 71, 116, and 138. Michael White won the final two frames of the first session, but Williams won the second session 10–3, breaking 121 in the final frame to complete a 10–3 victory. Williams will now face Jackson Page in the second round on 21st and 22nd April.
In the opening session, Mark Allen, who had last reached the quarter-finals in 2018, scored two century of 107 and 109 to take a 5–4 lead against Donaldson. Later, Mark Allen dominated the evening session and secured a 10-6 win over Donaldson to enter the second round. Allen will now face Ronnie O’Sullivan in the second round of 2022 World Snooker Championship on 22nd and 23rd April in a best of 25 frame match.
After trailing Hugill 1–3 at the midsession break, 2010 champion Neil Robertson won five consecutive frames, making breaks of 72, 97, 109, and 132, to lead 6–3 after the first session.
