The contest will take place from August 23 to 27. Italian Sofia Raffaeli will compete in the solo event again in an effort to improve upon her dominance of the 2022 edition, which saw her capture five of the six possible gold medals.
So far in the 2023 season, she has won two all-around World Cup competitions and earned a silver medal at the European Championships, where Bulgaria’s Boryana Kaleyn won the gold.
In addition to Raffaeli and Kaleyn, notable competitors this year include Daria Atamanov of Israel, the 2022 European all-around champion, Stiliana Nikolova of Bulgaria, Darja Varfolomeev of Germany, and Kaleyn, who withdrew from the Worlds last year just before they started due to injury.
In the group stage, it’s anticipated that Bulgaria and Israel, who finished first and second, respectively, at the 2022 Worlds and the 2023 European Championships, will face off. Bulgaria is the current Olympic gold medal winner.
