2022 Betfred World Matchplay Latest Results, Final Schedule, Venue, And Draw
Price defeated Danny Noppert 17-11 after hitting his fourth nine-darter of 2022, but Dimitri Van den Bergh was denied 17-14 by Van Gerwen thanks to a late rally. However, Price was the star of the show on a spectacular night in Blackpool as he defeated Noppert flawlessly and recorded the first nine-darter at this competition since Gary Anderson’s exploits in 2018.
Noppert, the UK Open champion, hit three ton-plus checkouts to suggest a late comeback, but the new world number one finished off a decisive win to guarantee his place in a World Matchplay final. After van Gerwen, a two-time champion, defeated Van den Bergh in a match between former champions by winning the final four legs without reply, he will now play Price in the Sunday finale.
The first Betfred Women’s World Matchplay will take place earlier on Sunday, and the highly anticipated match between Price and Van Gerwen will start at 21:00 BST.
