2022 World Grand Prix Darts Day 4 Results, Venue, Draw, Tickets, & Quarterfinal Schedule
On Thursday night at Morningside Arena as the second round of this double-start competition came to an end, 2020 champion Price defeated Cullen with a dazzling six-leg burst. Following a rather reserved performance, the Welshman found himself down 2-1 against the Masters winner before suddenly exploding into life and averaging 107 in each of the remaining two sets to advance to Friday’s quarterfinals. Madars Razma, who eliminated 2017 champion Daryl Gurney to get to the last eight of a TV event for the first time in his career, will face Price in the quarterfinals.
In other action, Nathan Aspinall overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat UK Open champion Danny Noppert and advance to his second World Grand Prix quarterfinal by surviving four dart matches. Martin Lukeman, who prevented Ross Smith from continuing his dream start in Leicester by defeating him in another thrilling sudden-death leg, will now play Aspinall in quarterfinal.
Five-time champion Michael van Gerwen will play 2019 semifinalist Chris Dobey in Friday’s quarterfinal clash while 2018 runner-up Peter Wright will play former World Matchplay champion Dimitri Van den Bergh. Razma is the next opponent in Price’s quest for a second World Grand Prix victory, while Aspinall will take on Lukeman in Friday’s curtain-raiser. Owing to his superb form, Gerwyn Price is backed by bookmakers as the overwhelming favorite to win the title ahead of former champion Michael van Gerwen and odds of Price winning is currently at 9/4 compared to 11/4 of van Gerwen.
