2022 World Grand Prix Darts Day 3 Results, Venue, Draw, Tickets, & Day 4 Schedule
Van den Bergh, Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright, and Chris Dobey advanced to Friday’s quarterfinals after all four players won their respective ties at the Morningside Arena via deciding set. Despite four nail-biting matches, Van den Bergh stole the show with an amazing all-around performance that saw him defeat reigning champion Jonny Clayton. Peter Wright, the World Champion, defeated Krzysztof Ratajski in another five-set match, rekindling Van den Bergh and Wright’s rivalry in the round of eight.
In another match, five-time champion Van Gerwen overcame Stephen Bunting’s valiant effort to win 3-2 and keep moving toward a sixth World Grand Prix title. After Chris Dobey defeated Adrian Lewis in a thrilling sudden-death leg, Van Gerwen will play him in the quarterfinals on Friday. Dobey had to survive a match dart at bull in the suspenseful final leg, but after spurning two of his own match darts, he made up for it with a fearless 100 kill to secure the win.
On Thursday night, the second round comes to an end with a match between top seed Gerwyn Price and Masters champion Joe Cullen, as well as a matchup between UK Open champions Danny Noppert and Nathan Aspinall. In the opening match on Thursday, 2017 winner Daryl Gurney faces Latvian rookie Madars Razma, while Martin Lukeman and Ross Smith square off.
