2023 PDC World Darts Championship Schedule, Venue, Draw, Format, & Playing Line-up
Wright won his second World Championship title at Alexandra Palace one year ago after mounting a remarkable comeback to defeat Michael Smith and replicate his achievements from 2020. In his opening game, Wright will play the winner of first-round clash between Robb and Mansell. As they compete for the chance to face the seeded players, the ProTour Order of Merit Qualifiers will face-off against the Qualifiers & International Representatives in the first round action. Elsewhere, the winner of the first-round match between Luke Woodhouse and Vladyslav Omelchenko will face top-seed Gerwyn Price.
Michael van Gerwen, a three-time winner, could start his quest for a fourth Sid Waddell Trophy with an all-Dutch matchup against Niels Zonneveld, who will face Lewy Williams of Wales in the opening round. Michael Smith, who just won the Grand Slam, will face a challenging test against the winner of first-round clash featuring Nathan Rafferty vs Jermaine Wattimena. On her return to the venue where she made history three years ago by defeating a man at the PDC World Championship, Fallon Sherrock will face Ricky Evans. Later, the winner of this match will qualify for the second round, where they will face Masters champion Joe Cullen.
In other matches, if Stoke-on-Trent star Adrian Lewis wins his match against Sweden’s Daniel Larsson in the first round, the two-time World Champion might play Australia’s World Cup victor Damon Heta. Heta’s World Cup partner Simon Whitlock will compete against Christian Perez, the winner of the PDC Asian Championship, for the chance to face Jose de Sousa in a thrilling second-round matchup. Tickets can be purchased by the fans from here.
